Awesome Arcade Shooter Action for iPhone and iPod Touch!

Pro-tip: If you're in search of some retro-throwback shoot-em up action for your iPhone/iPod Touch, the Triphids will soon be your number one foes.

Triphids are an evil force from the past who have launched a nearly successful surprise attack against the solar system: you must pilot humanity's last starfighter, an experimental prototype known as the Wyndham, on a solo mission to beat back the Triphids' 8-bit assault against all that you hold dear. 

Triphids is a tube-shooter along the lines of classics like Gyruss and Tempest: you maneuver around a circle and harvest patterned waves of enemies for points, and they attempt to blow you to smithereens with their projectiles so they can harvest the solar system for some grim unknown purpose.  As you progress, you gather weapon upgrades and ship restoration capsules to help you on your way.  Pilots of the Wyndham must conserve their weapons fire so as to not overheat their experimental reactor and burn out their lasers.  When fully cooled, the Wyndham's reactor is capable of reversing the polarity on Triphid weapons fire: leaving the Wyndham unscathed and giving the Triphids a taste of their own medicine.

  • Tap the screen to engage the Wyndham's auto-pilot and maneuver your ship.
  • Tap and hold in order to fire your laser cannons.
  • Briskly shake the iPhone/iPod touch to activate the Wyndham's polarity reverser.
